PURCHASING AGENT - SANTE FE SPRINGS
We are currently seeking candidates for a Purchasing Agent position at our Santa Fe Springs , branch located in California .
Brenntag is the worldwide leader in chemical distribution with over 130 years in business. Brenntag Pacific, Inc. has grown substantially over the last year. As a result of that growth we are in need of an experience Purchasing Agent.
Position responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
- Develop supplier strategy to ensure secure supply of products at competitive costs.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure the lowest total cost.
- Recruit new product lines to improve the value of Companies’ total business.
- Analyze costs and suppliers across the Company network to assist all branches in securing the best supplier relationships and cost positions.
- Support sales effort with timely response on product, supplier and cost inquiries.
- Develop excellent understanding of key product market dynamics and translate market knowledge into improved supplier and product purchasing decisions.
- Communicate market issues to sales management. Establish optimum inventory levels.
- Review and adjust established reorder points on a monthly basis.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Current work experience of 3–5 years as a purchasing agent.
- Ability to understand business implications of decisions.
- Possesses an orientation to profitability and implements cost saving measures when possible.
- Proficient level of skill with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, meet time sensitive deadlines with excellent follow-up.
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time when verifying inventory.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

DRIVER
Brenntag is the worldwide leader in chemical distribution with over 130 years in business. Brenntag Pacific, Inc. has grown substantially over the last year. As a result of that growth we are in need of an experience Class a Driver License. This position will be located at our North Las Vegas branch.
As a driver for Brenntag Pacific this individual will be responsible for the delivery and pickup of bulk and/or packaged industrial chemicals. Driver will be responsible to insure that all deliveries and pickups are done in a safe, responsible, timely manner. In addition to complying with all applicable laws and regulations, the driver will be responsible for following all company procedures and policies including proper paperwork documentation. For safety reasons, the driver must be able to speak, read and write in English. Warehouse work will also be part of the regular work routine for this position. This is a full time position, Monday-Friday. Occasional weekend / holiday work may be required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Current Class A license
- All HAZMAT Endorsements including T and X.
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Copy of clean, current DMV printout
- At least 1 year bulk tanker experience preferred
- Must meet PFT requirements to wear a respirator
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to read, speak and write English
- Clean appearance
- Ability to drive and certify on forklift
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently, as well as, part of a team.
- Ability to work well with and get along with a diverse set of customers and employees.
