OPERATIONS MANAGER - DICKINSON, ND
Brenntag is the worldwide leader in chemical distribution with over 130 years in business. We are in the process of expanding our Dickinson, North Dakota location and are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead this facility.
As the Operations Manager you will coordinate resources to ensure a safe, efficient and profitable operation. Working within the framework of established policies and objectives you will make decisions affecting company activities. You will also make recommendations and assist in the formulation of company objectives, policies and plans as they relate to the operation of our Dickinson facility. The warehouse, drivers, and office personnel will report to the Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will report directly to the District Operations Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Managing all operations including production, warehousing and transportation. This will be done using the most efficient means practical while meeting customer expectation and minimizing liability to the company.
- Always ensuring a “safety first” mindset.
- Overseeing facility CAPEX requirement and directing repairs, maintenance and upgrades of the facility.
- Assisting in maintaining compliance with applicable company policies and government regulations.
- Assisting with and/or conducting accident/incident investigations, hiring and termination, and, environmental/health and safety/quality issues.
- Identifying and resolving operations problems.
- Ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of products.
- Maintaining a familiarity and satisfactory working knowledge of legislative and regulatory programs that affect operations pertaining to the chemical distribution industry.
Note: This position is a hands-on working management position. Forklift certification/experience is a requirement.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in operations management, preferably in the chemical manufacturing or distribution industry.
- Proficient knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements with relation to the chemical distribution industry.
- Outstanding analytical and communication skills.
- Exceptional ability to interface with all levels of staff in a professional manner.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Proficient level of skill with Microsoft office products.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
